Md. Muzammel Haque

Chief Executive OfficerMd. Muzammel Haque has served as the Chief Executive Officer of ASA Myanmar (Microfinance) Limited (AMML) since October 2024. Prior to this appointment, he held the position of Interim Managing Director from November 1, 2023. With over 20 years of experience in the microfinance sector, Mr. Haque has demonstrated a robust commitment to advancing the organization's mission. His career began at ASA Bangladesh, where he joined as an Accountant in the Finance and MIS section at ASA Head Office in January 2005, serving until May 2015. Subsequently, he transitioned to ASA International as a Regional Manager from May 2015 to February 2016. Mr. Haque further expanded his expertise as Zonal Manager at ASA International in Nigeria from February 2016 to February 2018, followed by a role as Divisional Manager at ASA International India Microfinance Limited from March 2018 to September 2018. Since September 8, 2018, he has been serving as the Deputy Managing Director of AMML until his recent promotion. In addition to his executive roles, Mr. Haque is also a member of the Board of Director of AMML, contributing to strategic decision-making and governance within the organization. Mr. Haque's extensive background in microfinance and his leadership qualities position him as a key asset to ASA Myanmar as it navigates the complexities of the financial landscape.

Chief Financial OfficerMs. Wint Yee Oo has served as the Chief Financial Officer of ASA Myanmar since 2017. She has over 12 years of experience in Management, Accounting and Auditing fields in various kinds of Business; Trading, Manufacturing, Services, and Non-Government Organization. She attained her first-degree Bachelor of Accounting (Q) from Yangon Institute of Economics, Yangon, Myanmar in 2011. Ms. Wint is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) since 2014, then she continued studying ACCA and completed ACCA (Association of Charter Certified Accountant UK) Part II in June 2016.Prior to her experience with ASA Myanmar, she started her first career as Senior Auditor at one of the reputable External Audit Firms, Win Thin & Associates Co. Ltd, then she also served as Audit Executive at H.P.G Group Accounting & Consulting Co. Ltd till before joining ASA in 2017.

Chief Compliance and Risk OfficerMr. Phyo Pyae Maung Maung has been a dedicated staff member of ASA Myanmar Since 2016 and he holds several key positions such as Branch Manager, HR & Training Department In charge Officer, Training Manager, Business Development Manager, Risk Manager. Since April 2024, he has served as Chief Compliance and Risk Officer in ASA Myanmar. Before joining ASA Myanmar in 2016, he was an English Language Instructor and soft skills trainer at the Noor Education and Community Center and a Project Director at Planning for Future Organization as a Volunteer for community development. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in English Specialization from Bago University and is an MBA Candidate from European International University (Paris) as well as a certified in English Language Skills under the English Access Micro-Scholarship Program by the U.S. Embassy, Yangon. He also participated in the Burma Youth Leadership Program by the U.S. Department of State at Indiana University (U.S.A.) in 2014. He has been active as a trainer of soft skills, social skills, and a language instructor since 2014. He obtained a Professional Diploma in International Business Administration in 2022 and Diploma in HR Management in 2021. He also participated in several personal development courses such as Risk Management Training, Microfinance Business Planning, Small Enterprise Landing, Leadership, Communication and Public Relations Training. In addition, his accolades include Outstanding Youth Leadership Alumni Award in 2015 and Outstanding Participation Award in Youth Leadership Follow on projects in 2016.
Nandit Chakma

Operation ManagerMr. Nandit Chakma was born in Rangamati District in Bangladesh. After completing honors & master’s degree from Chattogram University in Bangladesh he joined at National NGO named Integrated Development Foundation-IDF in 2001 as a branch manager. He has successfully done work there for five years. After than he joined in ASA Bangladesh in 2006 as District Officer. From 2006 to 2014 total 8 years worked at various posts in Bangladesh, as District Officer, Regional Manager & District Auditor. In May 2014 he deployed in ASA Microfinance (Myanmar) Ltd as a team member under ASA International. Mr. Chakma has been working in various positions for the last ten years till now, such as Area Manager, Additional Divisional Manager, Divisional Manager, Zonal Manager and presently serving as Operation Manager. He brings over 20 years of Microfinance Experience and Knowledge as an Expatriate Personnel in Myanmar.

IT & MIS ManagerMr. Thi Han joined the company in 2022 as Deputy IT Manager and became IT & MIS Manager in 2024 and leading the IT & MIS Team. He obtained a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of Computer Studies, Yangon in 2005. Before joining ASA Myanmar, he worked at different industries, FMCG, Hospitality & Microfinance in several positions over 14 years in implementation of business applications, DMS, HRMS & Payroll system. In the Microfinance industry, he worked at BC Finance from 2015 to 2020, where he was involved in Musoni Core Banking System Migration project.
Aye Yu Mon

Human Resource ManagerMs. Aye Yu Mon joined ASA Myanmar in 2019. She received a B.A (English) from University of East Yangon in 2009. She also received a diploma in Business Studies from Yangon Economic University, a diploma in Human Resource Management from ICM (UK) and is certified in HRD. Before joining ASA Myanmar, she worked for more than 6 years as Admin & HR Manager in different industries. She has strong knowledge in local labour law / Social Security Law and Personal Income Tax related to the current trend and practices of Human Resource and Administration.

Mohammed Azim Hossain
Mohammed Azim Hossain
Azim Hossain assumed the role of Chief of Operations ('CO') of ASA International in July 2023, having served as the Group's Director of Investment, Treasury and Risk Management since 2005. Mr Hossain has over 34 years of experience in the microfinance industry, having worked for 20 years at ASA NGO Bangladesh, where he held various positions including Director of Finance & MIS and Senior Finance Professional. At ASA Bangladesh, Mr Hossain established the finance and MIS systems, was involved in the development and design of the AMMS, assisted in the establishment of risk management frameworks and was in charge of the NGO Partnership Programme, providing technical and financial assistance to microfinance institutions. He has also worked with the UNDP MicroStart programme in the Philippines and Nigeria, where he was responsible for development, products and services, financial management, performance analysis and business planning.

Martijn Bollen is the Chief Compliance, Legal and Risk Officer (‘CCLRO’) of ASA International, having been the General Counsel of the Group since 2007. Mr Bollen has over 15 years of experience in the microfinance industry. He also serves as the General Counsel of Catalyst Microfinance Investors (‘CMI’) and has worked with Sequoia BV since 2005. Mr Bollen worked as an Attorney-at-Law in the banking and finance department of Loyens & Loeff from 2000 to 2004 and from 2004-2005 held roles as in-house counsel and Attorney-at-Law.

Eufrecina 'Zeny' T. De Jesus, a registered social worker and social entrepreneur, earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Philippine Christian University, Taft Ave. Manila under the Presidential Scholar. In 2003, she earned her master’s degree in Entrepreneurship for Social Development Entrepreneurs at the Asian Institute of Management, Makati City and received the highest award of Superior Performance with a Thesis entitled Microfinance in a faith-based multi-service NGO. She started a career in development work in 1979 as Project Manager of the Good Samaritan Family Life Program in Quezon City, a child sponsorship program funded by Christian Children’s Fund, where she spent eight years. She briefly worked as a Community Social Worker in Saudi Arabia and Egypt before moving on as Community Development Worker at the Community Crafts Association of the Philippines, organizing small craft producers where she started to learn and practice microcredit in 1989. In 1996 she joined the Center for Community Transformation in Manila where she became the Program Manager of microfinance. Notable achievements include increasing the loan portfolio, improving the portfolio at risk, transforming net losses into robust profitability and increase the client base. In 2005, She helped established the Inner City Development Cooperative. Because of her expertise in replicating the ASA Model, she served as a Consultant to microfinance providers and organisations, including the National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATCCO), Caritas Salve Manila and Rural Bank of Talisayan and Kasangyangan Community Development Foundation, Inc. (KCCDFI) She has been a Speaker, Program Presenter and Facilitator in the United Kingdom, California, France, Sweden, Cambodia, India and Thailand. She received an award as Outstanding Mother of District IV in Quezon City in 2003 and a Community Service Development Award in Quezon City in 2012. (PMPFI), an NGO in The Philippines which operates in the remote areas of Bulacan, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Nueva Viscaya and Isabela, affiliated with Pagasa Philippines Lending Company, Inc. (part of ASA International) and she the Training Director of the latter. Likewise, she is President of Pagasa ng Pinoy Mutual Benefit Association, Inc. (PPMBAI), another social arm in helping the enterprising poor manages their risk.
