Mr. Anisur Rahman is the Managing Director of ASA Microfinance Myanmar Limited. He joined ASA Myanmar as the Managing Director in 2019. Before joining ASA Myanmar, he worked in Nigeria at ASHA Micro-Finance Bank Ltd as Deputy Managing Director for 8 years. He then worked at Lak Jaya Microfinance Limited in Sri Lanka as Central Coordinator for two and a half years. He has 24 years of senior level working experience in the Microfinance sector. He was one of the Board members of Lak Jaya MF Ltd and also was the Trustee of ASIEA, MFI in Nigeria under ASA International Microfinance Program. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree & Master of Arts degree from a recognized university in Bangladesh (RU). He has done a certified MCP (Microfinance Certification Program) course by CIBN (Nigeria) and holds a certificate for participating in a professional microfinance course from ASA Bangladesh. He has undertaken visits to Cameroon, UAE, Qatar, India & Thailand.

Mr. Md. Muzammel Haque started his career with ASA Bangladesh in 2005 as an accounts officer in the Finance & MIS department at the ASA Bangladesh head office. After progressing to Operations and finishing his field training, Mr. Haque joined ASA International in 2015. At ASA International his first assignment was at the ASIEA NGO in Nigeria where he worked for two years as a zonal manager. In 2017 he moved to ASA International India Microfinance Limited, where he worked as divisional manager in Tripura. From September 2018, Mr. Haque has been Deputy Managing Director of ASA Microfinance (Myanmar) Limited. Mr. Haque obtained his Master's Degree with Honours in 2005 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He further has a Specialization and Expertise Diploma in Microfinance from the Institute for Inclusive Finance and Development in Dhaka, Bangladesh. In addition, he also has a Diploma in Information System Management focussing on programming languages, website graphic design & publishing, and database management.

Ms. Wint Yee Oo is CFO of ASA Myanmar. She joined the company in 2017. Before joining ASA Myanmar, she worked for Triple A International Co., Ltd as Audit Executive in 2016 and at Win Thin & Associates Co., Ltd as an audit apprentice from 2012 to 2014. After she completed the CPA, she was promoted to Senior Auditor in Win Thin & Associates from 2015 to 2016. She graduated from Yangon Institute of Economics with Bachelor of Accounting Degree in 2011. She became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in 2014, and completed the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) part II.

Mr. Abdul Halim is an Operation Manager and joined ASA Myanmar in 2019. He obtained his MBA in the United Kingdom and is also partly qualified as chartered accountant. Before joining ASA International in 2018 he worked for 8 years in IT and the retail industry. He has experience in the field of project management, IT business analysis, retail operations management, strategic business planning, budgeting, productivity management and internal control.

Ms. Nilar Kyaing is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) which she achieved in 2007 after completing the University of Economics (YIE). She has experience in accounting, finance, and audit for more than 10 years in the field of trading and manufacturing. Prior to joining ASA Myanmar, she served as Chief Accountant, Financial Controller and Chief Auditor in another leading company for several years.

Mr. Hla Tun Oo is Information Technology Manager and joined ASA Myanmar in 2014. He has 15 years of experience, including in network and server implementation, security management, IT operation management, etc. Prior to joining ASA Myanmar, he has worked at NZW Digital Publishing House as IT Officer, as well as at the International Language and Business Centre as IT Administrator. Mr. Hla Tun Oo holds a Bachelor of Arts from Yangon University and an International Diploma of Computer Science from NCC, United Kingdom. He is a certified Information and Business System Developer from the UK.

Human Resource Manager

Ms. Aye Yu Mon is a HR Manager and joined ASA Myanmar in 2019. She received a B.A (English) from University of East Yangon in 2009. She also received a diploma in Business Studies from Yangon Economic University, a diploma in Human Resource Management from ICM (UK), and is certified in HRD. Before joining ASA Myanmar, she worked for more than 6 years as Admin & HR Manager in different industries. She has strong knowledge in local labour law / Social Security Law and Personal Income Tax related to the current trend and practices of Human Resource and Administration.

Phyo Pyae Maung Maung

Mr. Phyo Pyae Maung Maung is a Training Manager of ASA Myanmar, having been in charge of the HR & Training Department since 2018. Before joining ASA Myanmar in 2016, he was an English Language Lecturer and soft skills trainer at the Noor Education and Community Center. He obtained a Bachelor Degree in English from Bago University, and is certified in English Language Skills under the English Access Micro-Scholarship Program by the U.S. Embassy, Yangon. He also participated in the Burma Youth Leadership Program by the U.S. Department of State at Indiana University (U.S.A.) in 2014. He has been active as a trainer of soft skills, social skills, and an English teacher since 2014.

Dirk Brouwer

Dirk Brouwer co-founded ASA International in 2007 and has since served as the company’s Executive Director. He is also the Managing Director of Catalyst Microfinance Investors, which he co-founded in 2006. With over 20 years of experience in investment banking, and 11 in microfinance, he has held several senior and supervisory positions, having acted as a board member of CMI and Founder and Managing Director of Sequoia which he founded in 2002. Prior to this, he spent 14 years working at Merrill Lynch and PaineWebber.

Aminur Rashid

Aminur Rashid

Aminur Rashid is currently the Executive Director of ASA International. Since joining in 2011, he has held the positions of Chief Coordinating Officer and Director. Prior to this, Aminur was a Director of ASA Bangladesh from 1992, closely associated with the company’s micro-finance program. Before joining ASA, Aminur worked at Grameen Bank, a fully regulated specialized bank for microfinance. With over 28 years of experience in microfinance, he has held multiple senior industry positions, and worked in extremely varied developmental contexts including Tajikistan, India, Mexico, and Nigeria.

Mohammed Azim Hossain

Mr Azim Hossain has served as the Director of Investment, Treasury and Risk Management at the Group since 2005. Mr Hossain has over 34 years of experience in the microfinance industry and worked at ASA Bangladesh from 1984 to 2005 where he has held several positions including Director of Finance & MIS and Senior Finance Professional. While at ASA Bangladesh, Mr Hossain was in charge of its NGO Partnership Programme, whereby local NGO microfinance institutions received technical and financial support from ASA Bangladesh. Mr Hossain also established ASA Bangladesh’s finance and MIS systems and was involved in the design, development and implementation of products such as small and medium-sized enterprise loans, savings and insurance. Mr Hossain was actively involved in the development and design of AMMS at ASA Bangladesh. He has also assisted in the establishment of risk management frameworks and provided training on financial management and information systems at ASA Bangladesh. He has provided technical support in the microfinance industry to various microfinance institutions in countries including Ethiopia, India, Nigeria, the Philippines, Yemen, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Cambodia and Indonesia. He has also worked with the UNDP MicroStart program in the Philippines and Nigeria where he was responsible for development, product and services, financial management, performance analysis and business planning. Mr Hossain received his Master of Commerce in Accounting from the University of Dhaka in 1984 and served as a DANIDA fellow on “Project Management” at the Aarhus Technical College in Denmark.

Eufrecina 'Zeny' T. De Jesus

Eufrecina 'Zeny' T. De Jesus, a registered social worker and social entrepreneur, earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Philippine Christian University, Taft Ave. Manila under the Presidential Scholar. In 2003, she earned her master’s degree in Entrepreneurship for Social Development Entrepreneurs at the Asian Institute of Management, Makati City and received the highest award of Superior Performance with a Thesis entitled Microfinance in a faith-based multi-service NGO. She started a career in development work in 1979 as Project Manager of the Good Samaritan Family Life Program in Quezon City, a child sponsorship program funded by Christian Children’s Fund, where she spent eight years. She briefly worked as a Community Social Worker in Saudi Arabia and Egypt before moving on as Community Development Worker at the Community Crafts Association of the Philippines, organizing small craft producers where she started to learn and practice microcredit in 1989. In 1996 she joined the Center for Community Transformation in Manila where she became the Program Manager of microfinance. Notable achievements include increasing the loan portfolio, improving the portfolio at risk, transforming net losses into robust profitability and increase the client base. In 2005, She helped established the Inner City Development Cooperative. Because of her expertise in replicating the ASA Model, she served as a Consultant to microfinance providers and organisations, including the National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATCCO), Caritas Salve Manila and Rural Bank of Talisayan and Kasangyangan Community Development Foundation, Inc. (KCCDFI) She has been a Speaker, Program Presenter and Facilitator in the United Kingdom, California, France, Sweden, Cambodia, India and Thailand. She received an award as Outstanding Mother of District IV in Quezon City in 2003 and a Community Service Development Award in Quezon City in 2012. (PMPFI), an NGO in The Philippines which operates in the remote areas of Bulacan, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Nueva Viscaya and Isabela, affiliated with Pagasa Philippines Lending Company, Inc. (part of ASA International) and she the Training Director of the latter. Likewise, she is President of Pagasa ng Pinoy Mutual Benefit Association, Inc. (PPMBAI), another social arm in helping the enterprising poor manages their risk.
